Ollie Berryman project managed the entire new development of our detached house in Perranarworthal, from the ground works through construction and the finishes. Whilst undertaking much of the work himself with his team, Ollie also engaged a number of specialist contractors as necessary. He was meticulous in his approach to quality and was also able to negotiate favourable pricing on many of the materials. He also gave good advice when needed and provided full transparency on all necessary paperwork. He managed the process very efficiently and the entire development was completed within the agreed timeframe and budget. We would definitely recommend Berryman Construction.

“The concept for our 1910 Edwardian house renovation, as explained to Ollie, was to modernise the property whilst being sympathetic to its heritage, the environment and be low maintenance. Too often I have witnessed families pour their heart and soul into renovating their dream family home only to reach retirement and be unable to undertake the maintenance or be unable to afford the running costs, especially on these older large properties, much like the previous owners of our property experienced who were forced to down size selling the family home they had brought their children up in.
I had many ideas of my own on how to achieve this list of often conflicting wants and Ollie provided professional advice and suggestions during the planning stage and throughout the project. It is one thing to have a dream and a vision, but without Ollie and his team it would never have become a reality, or if it did the results would have been less than perfect.
Yes, Ollie and his team are on the younger side, but this was actually part of the draw of Berryman Construction Ltd for me. I wanted a young enthusiastic team working on our family project who would embrace new ideas, construction techniques and materials. I didn't want to hear about how it's been done in the past or the difficulties in using or doing this or that on an old house. Not that there weren't any problems, far from it, but Ollie presented me with solutions not problems. Do not let his youth fool you, he knows and cares far more than a lot of builders I have met!
So after a major exterior and interior renovation of our property, including extensions and large alterations to the structure throughout 2018/19, completing an amount of work that most people couldn't believe within 18 months, Ollie delivered not just our “new” house but also a new friend to us.
And the proof as they say is in the pudding. For the fitting of our solar panels we had to have an updated EPC carried out. With this our Edwardian house receiving a B85 rating, four whole levels above the F36 rating stated on the previous EPC carried out at the time of purchase, and one whole letter rating above the potential C75 energy rating thought possible by the energy surveyor. Dispelling the belief that old houses can't be energy efficient.
In the middle of May of 2019 we started advertising one room for let on Air BnB and we have been fully booked ever since with 100% 5 star ratings and all our guests commenting on how beautiful the house is.”

Ollie and his team undertook a major exterior refurbishment of our property in 2016, adding cladding and new guttering to the upper level, as well as working alongside other contractors to replace all the windows and exterior doors in the property. The work was completed to a very high standard, on time and in budget, and was undertaken in a professional manner.
We were particularly appreciative of Ollie’s suggestions and advice in the planning stage of the project, which helped ensure that the finished result achieved the appearance we were looking for, and we have been delighted with our refurbished home ever since.
